Although there’s still prejudice against people covered in tattoos, more and more people are beginning to regard it as a form of art, like the team behind Singapore Ink Show. They’re bringing back about 150 tattoo artists from all over Southeast Asia, and the United States to Suntec City Convention Hall 404 for the show on Apr 21-23.
The event also packs an amazing line-up of artists you can get inked by, like American artist specializing in colored portraits Nikko Hurtado; Jee Sayalero from Spain, who has released his own SK5 tattoo sketches magazine; Kinki Ryusaki from Malaysia who owns her own studio; Horei Shinshu, the Japanese artist who is famous for his vibrant four seasons designs; and the Singaporean-reps like Kelvin Leow and Weifong Daniel, both owners of their own studios, The Standard Tattoo Company and Red Sun Tattoo Art respectively.
The three-day show will include food and beverage vendors like Sailor Jerry, Pilsner Urquell and others (line-up is still in the works), performances by pole dancers from Thailand and a live airbrush technique demonstration. You can also catch Harley Davidson’s latest bike models showcase at the event. But if you’re feeling less brave about getting an actual tattoo, you can also support Singapore Red Cross Society who’ll be selling temporary tattoo stickers and raising money for the charity. For the more avid tattoo enthusiasts, you can look forward to enjoying the tattoo artworks from the artists who will be participating in the competition and bid for the six masterpieces of artists drawn live.
