Imagine a major festival bringing together some of the best people in the design industry, lots of collaborations and new works in the making. That’s exactly what returning designer platform SingaPlural is all about for its sixth edition. Happening on Mar 7-12 at the F1 Pit Building, the festival will feature some international collaborations, Singapore brands, talks and workshops.
Highlights of the event include collaborations between popular Japanese brand Uniqlo’s collaboration with Fizah and Ando from Machineast and Roots to showcase AIRism’s clothing line with a series of mini games and installations, and Studio Architetto Egidio Panzera’s collaboration with Singapore-based furniture manufacturers Ewins, showcasing their flagship brand Veromobi with a design installation through the use of high-performance and high-resistance acrylic sheets. Another great collab will see Singaporean designers like Asylum’s Chris Lee, WOHA Architects’ Wong Mun Summ and Richard Hassell, and spatial and interior desing firm Ministry of Design’s Colin Seah, team up with Japanese craft makers from Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry on a project titled “Kyo”.
Besides the cross-border collabs, local brands will also work with local designers to launch new products you can purchase at the event itself. Some brands that you can expect are Supermama, a studio and store for designers; Shermay’s Fine Food, selling local sauces and crackers; and ETTE TEA, offering a dedicated section to Singaporean-flavored teas.
Tickets are $10 (unlimited entry). Find out more here.
