Here’s what’s happening at this year’s Singapore Design Week

Singapore Design Week is back for a third year from Mar 8-20. Organized by the Design Singapore Council, there will be exhibitions, conferences and workshops to get your creative juices flowing.

So far, what’s confirmed is the President’s Design Award 10th Anniversary Exhibition (Mar 8), featuring 125 recipients (who have been awarded Designer of the Year and Design of the Year for their products) from 2006 to 2015.  For explorers, there are Design Trails (Mar 19-20), or “Thoughtful Design Journeys” which will lead people into Jalan Besar, Geylang and Joo Chiat, giving people a look behind-the-scenes of designers at work.

The event’s highlight is SingaPlural 2016 (Mar 9-17), which will be held at 99 Beach Road. This year’s theme is “Senses–The Art and Science of Experiences,” and will show the best work that embodies all the five senses. MAISON&OBJET ASIA (Mar 8-11) is back to show cool interior design from around the world, and there’s an international furniture fair from Mar 10-13.

For entrepreneurs, check out this design conference centering around the theme “Innovation Through Design,” where businesses and designers get to network and collab with one another.
