Hobbyists, pros and photography fans, this one's for you. If you’ve ever felt slightly empowered running around the city documenting bits and pieces of Singapore with your camera, you might want to take part in the 15th Canon Photomarathon happening on Sep 23.

Whether you’re a hobbyist who’s still trying to find your own distinct “style” of photography or a veteran whose gear are the envy of many, it doesn’t matter. The region’s largest photomarathon of its kind will bring together photographers of differing levels of experience where you can exchange tips with one another and circle the city together to take on the timed challenge of shooting photos according to a series of themes which will only be revealed on the day itself.

You don't necessarily have to own a Canon camera, as long as the submissions aren't taken with a mobile phone. There are lenses (as well as cameras, but what for when you have your own) you can rent, but it's on a first come, first served basis. Post editing isn't allowed; only in-camera editing, and all files submitted must be converted to JPEG format.

At the end of it all, you stand a chance to win a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and a Canon Pixma Pro-1 printer as the top prize for each theme, as well as an all expenses paid Canon photo clinic if you emerge the top of the top.

Tickets are priced at $15 to participate solo in the Open Challenge, or $60 for a team of four. Register here.
