This weekend’s packed with all types of events under the sun. Whether you want to catch some edgy German flicks, participate in some environmentally-friendly festivals or do a spot of shopping at the pit buildings, there are plenty of events to keep you busy.
German Film Festival
A major event on the film calendar, the 18th edition of this Goethe Institut festival features From Caligari to Hitler, a documentary tracing the diversity of early filmmaking, and Jack, a tale about two lost brothers in Berlin.
Symmetry Entertainment presents Wild Beasts
One consolation to Hostess Club Weekender’s cancellation is that this indie rock band will still be gracing our stages. The Mercury Prize-nominated band plays a compilation of their work from 2008 to 2014, with hits like “Wanderlust” and “A Simple Beautiful Truth.”
Adult Playground
Organized by 22 Experience, this outdoor festival has games like archery tag, dodgeball, paintball, human foosball and more. Taking the stage are local acts like The Sam Willows and Jack and Rai as well.
Faces of Cambodia
Local photographer Pearl Gan debuts her new exhibition whose focus is on everyday Cambodians and their lives. The photographer travelled for months to different towns for this collection.
Osteria Art
Popular China Square eatery hosts a three-course pop-up dinner. There’s a selection of six starters, mains and desserts with dishes like chicken liver & autumn truffle crostini and fettucine with crab and roasted cherry tomatoes.
Boutiques at The Pit Building
Spoil yourself silly with this edition of Boutiques with over 100 local and Singapore-based fashion labels, jewelry brands, lifestyle products and home décor. There are vendors like Kala Pata Gifts, Elverd Designs, Indi Nyah and Simone Irani.
Indochine Green Festival
Head here to learn more about environmental and welfare organizations like ACRES, an animal welfare society. There will be wildlife conservation talks at Gardens by the Bay, as well as a wine dinner at Indochine.
