The sixth edition of St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival is back Jan 30 at outdoor garden venue, Meadows by the Bay. And now, we know what acts will be making an appearance at next year’s edition of this hipster-fest.
First off, there are a few big acts making an appearence, like dream pop duo Beach House, award-winning Scottish electronic band CHVRCHES and majestic electro producer Flume, probably best known for his collab “The Greatest View” with Isabella Manfredi. While these acts will no doubt be the apple of the headgear-wearing, fringe-clad attendees’ eyes, there are a ton of other under-the-radar and local acts performing, too.
Also on the international roster is experimental pop singer Grimes; New York experimental rock band Battles; Australian duo Big Scary; quartet DIIV, who will be making their first-ever Asia-Pacific debut; Sydney band Hermitude; Canadian sludge-punk thrashers Metz and electro-synth duo Purity Ring.
Alternative and electro bands aside, there are also more soulful acts like LA-based R&B and neo-soul band The Internet and musician Thundercat, who’s got serious street cred by playing with the likes of Erykah Badu and Flying Lotus. And for those who like to party a little more, DJs like East India Youth and Hudson Mohawke will be amping up the atmosphere.
Let’s not forget about the local acts, which includes electronic DJ Intriguant and bands Cashew Chemists and Cheats.
Early bird tickets are on sale now from Sistic and start at $165.
