If you’ve always fantasized about owning a cool cafe in Tiong Bahru, then you might want to check out *SCAPE’s Our House Downstairs: Sharing Spaces event, happening on Jan 15, 22 and 26 from 2:30-6:00pm.
For $10 per person, it features a tour of Tiong Bahru, as the walk takes you through the trendy neighborhood’s history and heritage, coupled with a talk by entrepreneurs Melvin Koh of Nicher Bakery and Debra Chan of PoTeaTo, who’ll share how they kick-started their businesses within the community and Tiong Bahru’s unique social network. Also, if it’s not too twee for your hipster sensibilites, there will be a cooking session conducted by Debra.
