The Lion King will be making its triumphant return to Singapore next year

It’s been 23 years since Disney’s epic musical film about a kingdom of lions in Africa came into our lives and brought (some of) us to tears. And again when the musical adaptation made its Southeast Asian debut right here in Singapore six years ago. But in case you, like half the twenty-somethings in our office, missed it, you can check out the theatrical spectacle as The Lion King returns to our shores for its 20th anniversary.

Unfortunately, it’s going to be a while away until we’ll get to be part of the whimsical world of Simba, Nala, Rafiki, Mufasa, Timon, Pumba and company, as they’ll only be making their way here in June next year. Marvel at the intricate set design and colorful costumes as they come to life, telling the story of responsibility, loss, karma and coming of age through stellar acting and familiar songs like “Circle of Life”, “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”. This time round, the musical production will be staged by Michael Cassel Group in association with Disney Theatrical Productions, making it their first international tour of the world’s #1 musical.

Ticketing details will be released over the next few months, but you can join the waitlist and stay up to date here.
