Launching in Singapore for the very first time, the Esplanade will be hosting Super Japan—Japanese Festival of Arts from May 13-22.
There are 25 ticketed programs and over 60 free shows and activities lined up, with headlining artists like avant-garde J-pop singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, the Blue Note Tokyo All-Star Jazz Orchestra and acclaimed shamisen musician Hiromitsu Agatsuma. The festival also features collaborations between local and Japanese talents, with homegrown singer-songwriter Nathan Hartono appearing as a guest vocalist alongside jazz singer Asako Toki and trumpeter Eric Miyashiro. Besides concerts, dance performances and plays, there will also be a food market serving Japanese street food, a kimono parade and workshops.
