Metric, the reigning indie favorite from Toronto, Canada will be making their Singapore debut at the Esplanade Concert Hall on July 31, 7:30pm. Tickets will go on sale for $68, $88, $108, $128 and $148 via Sistic from June 1 onwards.
Metric is said to be releasing their fifth studio album Synthetica (June 15), which will feature the work of Grammy-nominated indie rock specialist John O’Mahony. According to guitarist Jimmy Shaw, Synthetica will be a culmination of everything the band has done.
The talented foursome has been known for performing to sellout arenas and headlining festivals since it was founded in 1998. Hits like the contemporary uptempo “Raw Sugar” and sweetly melancholic “White Gold” (see music video below) from debut album Grow Up and Blow Away secured the band’s promising rank in the New Wave scene, while “Combat Baby” (see music video below) from Old World Underground helped Metric score gold in Canada. Metric has also had a hand in scoring films, including the Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack with composer Howard Shore.
