The first nature tour of Bukit Brown this year is hosted by Beng Tang on Jan 17 from 9am-12pm, and will teach you where to find all its edible plants. The group will meet at the junction of the inner new cemetery entrance road (it is labelled with a sign that says “To Blocks 1,3, 4”) and is located along Kheam Hock Road.
Nature geeks may want to bring a notepad and a plastic bag to take notes and some plant samples. The event page advises participants to come with covered shoes, not to wear socks and to bring insect repellent.
Even if you aren’t into foraging, go for nostalgic reasons, as the cemetery is due to be demolished. Find out more here.
