Not into NYE parties? Welcome 2017 with daytime drinking at these New Year’s Day alternatives

There are many reasons for going to a New Year’s Day Party: you could just hate the crowds and cab-hunting of New Year’s Eve; you could be a strong proponent of the ol’ hair of the dog hangover treatment or maybe you just like you wake up before noon on the first day of the year and celebrate with friends. Whatever it is, here are some New Year’s Day parties to check out, where you can lounge around a pool or on the grass, drink and say your Happy New Years.

HI-SO

Party people Eyes To The Front are throwing a New Year recovery party at Sofitel So’s HI-SO Rooftop Bar with the likes of Stephen Day (he will be performing at the Tanjong Beach Club’s countdown party), Deen and Oliver Osborne helming the decks. To restore your tired soul and body, there will be a slew of barbeque fare as well, including Louisana-style chicken wings, beef sliders and fries, alongside bloody mary’s, mojitos and beers.

Kult Kafe

Those who partied (silently) at Kult Kafe till late, with their ears plugged in, will be glad to know the party continues. Aptly called, Hangover on the Hill, this soiree starts at 6 am (yes, you heard that right). A pretty idyllic event, with chill music, snacks and sambal belachan bloody mary’s to wake you up.
