This weekend is packed with a whole bunch of stuff to do, from checking out the installations at the Singapore Night Festival and participating in a Pokemon Go pub crawl, to watching a film in the outdoors and participating in the Color Run.

The annual Singapore Night Festival, held by the National Heritage Board, is back for its ninth edition this year. Spread over two weekends, the festival promises a block party on Armenian Street, dazzling projections on heritage buildings and lots more. Here are seven things you should check out at the festival. Cato’s the place to be on Friday, especially if you’re into counter-culture and music from both local and regional talents. Singaporean DJ Maurice Simon helms the deck and dishes out his flavor of techno and deep house beats. Aug 19

ARTS
Masterpiece in Motion is Singapore Dance Theatre’s triple bill of ballet performances that’ll showcase only the best in international choreography. Choo-San Goh’s Schubert Symphony opens the night, followed by Edwaard Liang’s Age of Innocence. The night ends off with the premiere of Nils Christe’s Symphony in Three Movements, set to the music of Igor Stravinsky. Aug 19-20

KidG spins at OverEasy Orchard’s Guilty Pleasure night, where he’ll dish out some of the cheesiest 90s hits and misses that’ll have you partying (or playing beer pong) like it’s the 90s all over again. Aug 19

NUS’s biggest arts carnival is back and opens its doors to present a myriad of performance arts, film, open-mics and local acts. Headliners at the HERE! Arts Carnival include Charlie Lim, Mitch Advent and PennyLane: The Band. Aug 19

Go disco dancing with your friends at Block Party. Organized by Gallery & Co., work those dancing shoes to the eclectic mix of disco music courtesy of veterans DJ KFC and Hookstyle, who’ll keep the party alive at the outdoor bar. Aug 19

DJ Bhayology has been heading up the Tropical Temple parties for a couple years now, along with his partners in crime. Sadly he’s going on an indefinite hiatus, and if you’re a fan, this sweaty dance party at Blu Jaz is your last chance to see him. He and DJ Kusto will be spinning Carribean, Latin and African tunes along with a bunch of other world beats. Aug 19

Riot!, Singapore’s cult drag revue, returns to their new home at Hive by Wala Wala. Featuring the most divalicious drag queens who use their powers for good and for evil, prepare to belly laugh, drink copiously and blush furiously. Aug 20

Cinewa is The Projector’s new Sunday film segment and a prelude to this year’s Japanese Film Festival Singapore. This Sunday, catch Jiro Dreams of Sushi, a story about 85-year-old Jiro Ono, who is the first sushi chef to receive three Michelin stars, and was declared a national treasure by Japan. But this sushi master isn’t growing any younger; his son now faces the pressure of stepping into some really big shoes to take over the legendary Sukiyabashi Jiro in Tokyo. Aug 21
