Singapore’s first Big Wig Festival to feature Pharoahe Monch, The Pharcyde and Akil of Jurassic 5

Singapore’s first Big Wig Festival, an amalgamation of long loved genres like funk, hip hop, soul and reggae, will happen on April 6 at the Fort Canning Park, with major names like Pharoahe Monch, The Pharcyde, Akil of Jurassic 5 and The Cuban Brothers in the lineup.

Other acts set to take to the stage are Hydro Phonics, who will perform with Akil the MC as the group Four Dub, Chrom3, Deejay Theory, Captain Planet, as well as local darlings Wicked Aura, Kevin Lester (with DJ Koflow) and the Pushin’On Crew.

The almost 10-hour blowout will also feature live graffiti, a purpose-built skateboard ramp by Barker Barett, as well as breakdance performances by Radikal Forze.

In other news, fans of Jurassic 5 will be happy to know that the alternative hip hop group from the US will be reuniting at Coachella right after Big Wig Festival.

Tickets are now going for $105 ($135 on event day) via Sistic.
