Skip corny Valentine’s Day for a night out with Christina Perri*

[SPONSORED] If roses, candles, wine and romantic dinners on Valentine’s Day make you cringe, have an anti-valentine’s date a couple weeks later.

Christina Perri is playing in Singapore on Feb 27 at The Coliseum, hot on the heels of her new album, Head or Heart with songs like “Trust” and “Sea of Lovers”. Known for her hit “Jar of Hearts”, she’s all about both the good and the sad bits of love.

Avoid the obligatory, saccharine dinner date and instead grab a pre-concert bite at Chili’s (hey, nothing says real love like nachos). There’s even the nearby Malaysian Food Street, full of hawker finds like claypot rice and bak kut teh.

(Ok, ok: if you really feel the need to turn on the swank romance, there’s always Resorts World Sentosa’s L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon for some fine, Michelin-starred French food.)

Head to the concert at 8pm and catch the opening act by local band Gentle Bones before you sing along to all of Christina’s anthems. Make sure to wave those glow sticks and take lots of pictures.

End the night with some drinks at one of the bars in the area. If you still want more live music, head to The Rock Bar for the band. For a swanky nightcap, there’s no better place to get a whisky on the rocks than CJ’s Bar at Quaich.

Christina Perri plays at Hard Rock Hotel’s The Coliseum on Feb 27, 8pm. Get your tickets via Sistic and Peatix for $98 (early bird), $118 (standard) and $138 at the door.

If you can’t get enough of concerts, check out The Script’s concert this April, too.
