A neighborhood in the east of Singapore has been on the receiving end of attention this coming weeks, with more options for food delivery, a rooftop party and even a new alternative workspace so you can strike that elusive work-life balance you’ve always wanted. Here’s what’s cookin’ in Tampines.
More home delivery options
UberEATS recently expanded their service to Tampines, and became the fifth area of expansion since their launch in Singapore last May. This neighborhood will operate as an independent cluster and will have its own infrastructure so that it can fulfill the demands of the area. Oh, and get $10 off your first order when you check out using the promo code TAMPINESEATS. Expires Dec 31.
A silent disco is coming to Tampines
With so many block parties, rooftop dance parties, street carnivals, clubs and bars, you’d think you’ll never run out of options when it comes to having a good time in Singapore. Now you can add Silent Disco’s Rooftop Party to that list, which will take place over two days on Nov 28-29 at Tampines 1. Expect the same experience you’d get at a regular club, with the exception that your ride home will be that much cheaper. Each partygoer is handed out a pair of specialized light-studded, noise-cancelling headphones. Three DJs will be there, spinning different genres of music simultaneously, giving you the option to switch as and when you like (each channel has a different color light).
A smart co-working space
There’ll be a new Smart Work Center occupying 160 sq meters of space at the revamped Tampines library next year, which will be fitted with meeting rooms, video conferencing facilities, Wi-Fi and photocopiers. It’s the fourth one in Singapore, with others located in the Jurong, Geylang East and Toa Payoh libraries. It’ll be able to hold 47 people and rental starts from $20 for a desk and $399 for a private cubicle. Or, you could check out our list of co-working spaces if you need to take a breather from your hometown.
