The Tanjong Pagar Railway Station may be a recurring setting in your grandparents’ stories, but now you can visit it for real on New Year’s Day (Jan 1), from 9am-6pm, according to the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).
It’s best to go there with relatives who have memories of the place to provide some running commentary, or you can take photos or sketch the national monument, or check out the really old but cool stuff around the train station.
You can also submit your illustrations at the former ticketing counter of the station, which may be displayed in the future.
The station is open to the public on most public holidays.
