There’s a four-day reggae party in Singapore this weekend

Every now and then, there’ll be a party where all the cool cats of Singapore will gather for a good night of fun; a respite from the usual nights in the club. And then there’s Soul Island Singapura, a debaucherous four-day series of parties, film screenings, music performances and barbecues all laced with good vibes hosted by music collective Singapura Dub Club and Southeast Asia’s queen of reggae, Mas1a.

Held from Mar 30-Apr 3, the four parties will see music ranging from hip hop, house, R&B, and reggae, with DJs like Soul Vibes Entertainment, Rusto, Clement Chow and Part2style helming the decks. Opening the four-day bonanza is a the Bassment Soul party at Kilo Lounge, followed by an afterparty at The Projector’s Intermission Bar featuring a host of vocalists and music makers like Vandetta, Instigator Afrobeat and DJ Justo (it’s held right after the film screening of Amy, a documentary about the life of the late English singer and songwriter, Amy Winehouse. You’ll have to pay a $10 entrance fee to join in the fun if you didn’t catch the film).

Also, if you’ve made it this far after partying for the first two days, you’ll be able to attend the exclusive, invite-only pool party at Amara Hotel, where the dancing continues. But fret not, you can still go for a BBQ party at Camp Kilo Charcoal Club, where they’ll dish out their best grilled delights. Apart from the great parties and food, there’ll also be a flea market and game stations where you’ll get to play local games like capteh and five stones.
