The northern heartlands get a food festival and pasar malam

Fancy food festivals like Savour, Epicurean Market and Chang Sensory Trails are all well and good, but we’re intrigued by this heartland festival doing all the pasar malam favorites.

Electronics chain Gain City is holding their very own food festival at their megastore at Sungei Kadut from Sep 2-4. It sounds kind of promotional, we know, but we’re excited to roam around gorging on Raindrop Cake, the calorie-free, translucent concoction that took over people’s social media feeds for a time. Other than that, we’re promised pasar malam favorites like the Ramly burger, curry puffs and squid balls from Old Chang Kee, among others. There’s also artisanal popcorn freshly prepared by King Corn SG, low fat chocolate from Tatgu and Vietnamese dishes from Pine Food if you’re up for something a little different.

And you know, they’ll no doubt have electronics for sale.
