6 unmissable concerts happening soon in Singapore

The first half of the year isn’t over yet and there are so many big names in music coming down. They’re all happening pretty soon, so book now. Check them out while you still can.

Bon Iver (Feb 26)

 
His first album For Emma, Forever Ago was called one of the best break-up albums by Rolling Stone. The one-man band, best known for “Skinny Love”, is sure to melt your heart with ethereal tunes, synthesizers and hits like “Holocene,” “Towers” and “Calgary.” The Star Theatre, $68-148.

Madonna (Feb 28)

Hold on to your hearts, fishnets and cassette tape collections, because Madonna is finally performing in Singapore, after the Girlie Show fiasco back in 1993. The Rebel Heart World Tour is a one-night only concert and has an R18 rating. Also, more category four seats were announced, so you should grab them while they are still available. National Stadium. $108-1,288.

 

Singjazz Festival (Mar 4)

Returning for the third time at Marina Bay, the three-day Sing Jazz Fest brings together both new and classic soul and jazz acts like local musician Jeremy Monteiro, British singer Joss Stone, Havana collective Buena Vista Social Club and Darker Than Wax Sound System. Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza, $100-150.

Death Cab for Cutie (Mar 7)

Death Cab for Cutie will be back in Singapore this as a part of the WOAH Festival 2016. Expect to hear their hits like “Black Sun,” “Little Wanderer” and “Meet Me On The Equinox” from the Twilight saga. The Coliseum, $99-190.

Tame Impala (Apr 21)

Tame Impala will be playing in Singapore. So head down and dance to tracks from their latest album, Currents, though we’d be shocked if they didn’t do “Let It Happen,”  “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” and “Elephant.” The Star Theatre, $68-148.

Flying Lotus (May 26)

All the cool kids are super excited about tapper, experimental artist and producer’s gig in a few months, where he’ll no doubt be playing sonds from his album, “‘You’re Dead!’. He’s known for tracks like “Never Catch Me” (featuring Grammy award winning Kendrick Lamar), “Coronus, The Terminator” and “Pretty Boy Strut.” The Coliseum, $88-120.
