24 things to see, do, eat and drink in Singapore this weekend (Dec 25-27)

It’s Christmas and the festive season brings another slew of themed parties as nearly all of Singapore’s clubs are having one. If you’re not into anything festive, there is a film screening, a beakdancing competition and a flea market to go to. Check it out:

Fri, Dec 25

MUSIC
If you’re not doing anything on Christmas, why not head down to Straits Records? It’s their third anniversary and they are also having their Making Waves festival with live music by The Vibes, Johnny Eyeglass and Silvermachine. 

BRUNCH
Catalunya is having a Christmas Bingo Brunch with Passion starting from today till Sunday. The spead comprises classics like traditional suckling pig and seafood paella and a free flow of jamon iberico, tortillas and Christmas desserts.

EAT
It’s your last chance to eat at Lazy Susan, where chef Hann Palcu-Chang from Toronto will be whipping up delicious bites like prawn paste chicken and rice flour waffle with sambal maple sauce. If reservations are full, be sure to score one in next month as he will be at Open Door Policy.

COMEDY
Catch Kumar at Fresh!. You know the drill—the loveable sassmonster will spare no one in his routine.

DRINK
This year’s Crazy Santa Pub Crawl includes four undiscovered bars and one club, a free shot at every bar and some drinks specials.

Chivas Singapore is hosting a Brotocol party, so head to f.Club Singapore for some whisky. 

PARTY
Dodgy Yamamoto is spinning at Kilo this Christmas—the night’s set includes house music with a little bit of dubstep.

SHOPPING
Muslim retailer Faroshah is having a year-end sale, so get your cardigans, scarves and long skirts here.

Sat, Dec 26

DANCE
Check out what’s happening at the local B-boy scene at The Final Throwdown, where breakdancers in groups of three face off. There’s an after party of this event, too.

PARTIES
There’s always a party at Ce La Vi, so celebrate boxing day at Radiostar with top 40 hits and club music with DJsYA5TH, Suren and Styluxtakut.

There’s a Baila Loco dance party at Midland House, with DJ Ajad from Japan spinning. Word is, a circus will be here, too.

Set sail at the SexySantacon Boat Party. There will be a buffet, two drinks, a DJ on board and many people dressed as Santa(s).

Hackerspace is having an End-of-Year party, so go network with those in the tech scene for your next startup idea.

DJ Maurice and Kaye, who is the co-founder of DJ collective, Darker Than Wax, will bring house and techno beats at Re:fuge

EXPLORING
You should have already reserved tickets to Open Farm Community’s Garden Tour, which shows you how the farmers produce and harvest their food, as well as how to get into urban farming.

FILM
There’s a film screening of Mash at Canvas to celebrate the movie’s 10th anniversary, so bring someone who likes black comedy to watch this.

CHARITY
It’s a good time to adopt a dog or cat at the Paws & Furs Carnival at Tiong Bahru Park. 

ART
If Christmas isn’t your thing, chill with Liu Mei Xiang’s Chinese painting exhibition, The Freedom of Lingnan, at High Street Centre to get away from the holiday bustle.

EXPLORING
Bikers can gear up for this 60km holiday route from Kallang to Seletar Aerospace in this Velo SG Ride event. Remember to bring your helmets and drink lots of water.

WELLNESS
Work off all that Christmas carbs and holiday stress at this free yoga class. Bring your own mat, water and towel. Healthy snacks will be provided at this event.
