Three-piece alt-pop outfit LANY will make their Singapore debut this summer

The trio from California has a whole lot going on for them. From supporting other artists on tours to headlining their very own, the beloved LANY has come full circle. They’re coming our way to perform at *SCAPE The Ground Theatre on Aug 10.

The band has managed to find a sweet spot between splashing their music with 80s-style synths and new-wave electronica, and peppering it with feel-good riffs and lyrics, which probably explains their universal appeal and growing fan base. Just last year alone, they performed more than 117 shows across 12 countries, and somehow still managed to pull together their highly anticipated self-titled album, slated for release on Jun 30.

Their story’s one that’s really endearing—Paul Klein, Leslie Priest and Jake Goss got together in 2014, with only one thing in mind: to make a couple of demos and have fun doing it. But after pushing them out online, emails from major labels that were interested in them started coming in. They’ve toured together with the likes of South African-born Australian YouTube sensation/actor/singer-songwriter Troye Sivan, English pop singer Ellie Goulding, American singer-songwriter Halsey, and even John Mayer, whom Klein believes is “one of the greatest song writers of this generation”.

Tickets are priced at $68 (limited early bird), $78 (advance), and $98 (door) via Apac Tix from May 26, 10am onwards. Check out their performance of “ILYSB” on Late Night with Seth Meyers below.
