The DBS Marina Regatta this year has an awesome food village

We wrote about watersports festival DBS Marina Regatta back in March, and we now have more details. For those who are hearing about it the first time, the event will take place at Marina Bay from May 28-29 and Jun 4-5, with activities like dragon boat and sailboat races.

One of the festival’s major highlights are its food and art markets, happening on both weekends. Shoppers can expect locally crafted wares from homegrown designers, artists and crafters, and the stalls are housed in refitted shipping containers that will also be the venue for free music concerts featuring local indie musicians. At the food village, names like Snag Shack, Fika and Kerbside Gourmet will be serving Australian sausages, Swedish meatballs and pig head croquetas.

You can also work off some calories at the pop-up urban beach, which will host fringe activities like stand up yoga. But for more adrenaline-packed action, hop on what organizers dub as Southeast Asia’s tallest inflatable water slide, standing at 16m. Open from 11am-8pm, it costs $10 for five rides and all proceeds will go to the Society for the Physically Disabled.
