Lost City 3 features the artwork of Hong Sek Chern, Geraldine Kang, CK Kum, and Tang Ling Nah, and explores the intersections between art, architecture, and urbanism in the hope of unveiling certain truths about the urban environment.
Hong Sek Chern’s art uses Chinese ink, pigment, and collage on rice paper and focuses on the planar aspects of urban growth. Geraldine Kang’s photographic installation documents the interior of a typical HDB flat and marks the space before and after the passing of a family member. Artist and architect CK Kum r brings reclaimed artefacts, remnants of a now demolished Joo Chiat stage house and a series of photograph-based paintings recalling the “life” of the wooden structures, both memorialising and extending their existence. Tang Ling Nah’s installation work, comprises of miniature cityscapes out of charcoal fragments and projecting its exaggerated outline, that examines interesting perspectives of the environment.
The exhibition runs on Tuesdays to Sundays. There will also be an Artist Talk on Dec 5, 3pm-4 pm.
