The National Gallery Singapore’s Portraits of the People campaign kicked-off in November as part of Singapore’s 50th anniversary celebrations. The portrait team will travel to 50 locations island-wide from now till May 2015 taking sketches of willing Singaporeans who show up at each location. These self-portraits will then form the centerpiece of a permanent SG50 290m commemorative walkway – the Art Connector – which will run from City Hall MRT to the entrance of the new Gallery along Coleman Street.
