The deal: If you love Kilo’s bohemian spirit but don’t feel like making the trek to Kallang, the multi-concept PACT outlet has more of their Asian fusion, Mediterranean-tinged nosh in the heart of town. $20 gets you a salad, sushiro or bowl, a drink and a choice of two desserts. Their menu is ever-changing but there are salads like seared tuna with arugula, capsicums, onions and wasabi sprouts; sushi-meets-burrito rolls like tempura prawn with cucumber, cream cheese, avocado, carrots and coated with ebiko, or the smashburger with beef, cheddar, tomatoes, lettuce and red onions. Bowls come with your choice of sushi rice, brown rice or quinoa, with proteins like pork belly, beef short ribs, pan-seared donburi salmon and roasted veggies with tofu. Desserts are simple and light with a choice of lemon tart or basil panna cotta.
Why it’s worth it: For an Orchard Road location, it’s definitely a more interesting lunch option that’s value-for-money. Plus, the Mediterranean-Asian mix doesn’t feel forced at all. Although it all sounds pretty healthy and light, don’t be deceived as it’s heartier than it looks.
