Lunch @ LP+Tetsu

The deal: The new $28 bento box at this swish French-Japanese restaurant includes some perfectly fried pork katsu, sashimi (with soy espuma for dipping), rice and miso soup. Alternatively, opt for the Encounters menu, which offers two courses ($35) or three courses ($45) of plates like duck breast with red fruit miso.

Why it’s worth it: You get a full meal for under $30 at a joint by one-Michelin-starred chef Laurent Peugeot—it’s a steal. The service is as excellent as the food. Plus, the place is never too crowded, so you won’t feel rushed through your meal.
