Founded by Nawal Alhaddad in 2018, Glowco is an activewear brand for modern Muslim women. In her 10 years as a fitness instructor, she noticed hijabis felt limited by their clothing. Hijabs slipped off and outfits slipped up, exposing certain body parts and making them feel uncomfortable and sweaty. As a result, Alhaddad began designing modest workout gear. The brand now operates an online store and a hybrid store-fitness studio run by sister brand Glowco Move offering women-only, hijab-friendly workouts. The sports hijabs start at $23.90, innerwear at $23.90, tops and bottoms, at $49.90, and swimwear at $25.
