After a three-year hiatus, the return of Singapore’s largest lifestyle event, ARTBOX, promises to bring out everyone’s inner mischief. Happening over the weekends of Feb 24-26 and Mar 03-05, this year’s Vision theme invites visitors to discover the future at Fortune Town, where they explore a box of surprises with various collaborations, art installations, activities, retail selections, F&B experiences, and more.
Held for the first time in an air-conditioned hall spanning almost 10,000sqft at the Singapore Expo, ARTBOX’s return will comprise over 20 distinct shipping containers measuring 20 and 40 feet, with close to 300 retail and gastronomic booths that offer a uniquely Singaporean twist while still staying true to their Thai origins.
Look forward to vibrant and visionary art installations by JELILO artists Lester Lim and tokidoki, and a 3-level high Hero Structure comprising octagon-shaped containers stacked vertically with projection mapping by visual artist Aundraj Jude and motion designer Reynard Adrianto.
Enjoy music performances by famous artists such as Tay Kewei, Derrick Hoh, Alfred Sim, Akeem Jahat, Calvert Tay, and singing sensation Zin from The Voice Thailand. There’ll also be hands-on workshops and activities to appeal to the adventurous and fortune-seeking. One such activity is the Beam of Pain, a mini obstacle course featuring a 15-meter balancing beam lined with acupuncture mats that test participants’ pain thresholds and determination. Completing this challenge may sound daunting for most, but there’s an $888 cash reward lying in wait for the fastest and bravest challenger who conquers the Beam of Pain!
Foodies looking to indulge in the plethora of food offerings can relax and eat to their hearts’ content at foodpanda’s pink outdoor-sheltered dining zone. ARTBOX showcases an array of sweet and savoury treats, with vendors cooking up local and regional delicacies that will surely delight the Singaporean palate. With Chang Beer as the official lager beer partner, patrons can quench their thirst with Chang’s unique brew, unwind, and enjoy contemporary Thai art forms by street artist Rukkit Kuanhawate.
Over two exciting weekends, the return of ARTBOX Singapore after global pandemic measures offers visitors an opportunity to reconnect in a physical event space again. With so much to offer, the event promises to ignite the imagination, creativity, and hyperlocal entertainment experiences that you do not want to miss. Mark the dates and prepare to head over for weekends of fun and entertainment.
