Find everything you need for Lunar New Year 2023 at Takashimaya D.S

As festive occasions come around, many of us find ourselves at a loss when trying to pick out the right gifts for important people, and the right treats to get for ourselves and loved ones. Especially when faced with our usual daily business, we find, more often than not, that we’re suddenly at a lack of time.

Thankfully, we can almost be certain that the trusty Takashimaya Department Store will celebrate these big events with a sizeable fair where we’ll easily get to explore some of our favourite brands. Hopping into the Year of the Rabbit this Lunar New Year, Takashimaya’s Chinese New Year Fair makes a comeback with over 70 brands of cookies, pastries, delicacies, gifts, and decorations.

Amongst the highlights this year is Kele and their extensive array of cookies and pastries. On top of their fine pineapple tarts, their newly-launched Cashew Nut Cookies are buttery, nutty, and generously filled with cashew bits, carefully toasted for that elevated fragrance. They’ve also introduced the Cheese Kuih Bangkit, a cheesy twist on the classic pastry with melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

The homegrown Mdm Ling Bakery needs no introduction. Adding on to their popular repertoire of innovative bakes, they present traditional Nanyang Love Letters, made with a time-honoured family recipe, 100% pure coconut milk, and natural ingredients, and all-new Tomato King Crowns this year.

Lovers of baked goods will also want to check out Bread and Butter’s signature Almond Pillow, handmade with no added butter or eggs, and August Baking Studio’s debut at Takashimaya with new festive additions like the Nutella Hazelnut Tart and Almond Cocoa Crunch.
