Standing fans don’t have to be just utilitarian appliances that keep air flowing in the perpetually muggy Singaporean weather. They can also act as a sleek, modern statement piece suitable for any well-designed living space – if you know which one to get.

Enter the pair of new Japandi-inspired standing fans from home appliance brand Mistral (Japandi refers to a fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian aesthetics). The all-new Horizon Collection features two standout models – the smaller Horizon Twilight with a seven-inch fan blade and its larger 12-inch sister, the Horizon Moonlight.

Both come equipped with a high-powered brushless DC motor, meaning they are more than capable of taking care of business – as in, keeping your home cool and comfy – without making a ruckus, thanks to the whisper-quiet design of the motors.

The Horizon Twilight and Horizon Moonlight boast 12 different speeds along with a variety of wind modes like normal, sleep and eco, allowing you to tailor their operations to your exact needs. You can even set them on a 12-hour timer if you’d like, further improving energy efficiency. And with a remote control for convenience, you can just kick back and relax in cool comfort.

But energy savings and silent operations are not the only benefits of the two fans. As we’ve mentioned, the attractive fans are designed for the timeless minimalism of Japanese-Scandinavian homes – a popular interior design choice in many Singaporean homes.

Both function equally well as quiet background appliances and statement pieces, thanks to their atmospheric mood lighting features with three different brightness settings.

For further olfactory appeal, the smaller Twilight model even comes with an aromatherapy diffuser, giving its users the ability to layer on relaxation or any other mood when hosting friends and family.

The Horizon Twilight and Horizon Moonlight are available now for $399 (promotional price at $209) and $299 (promotional price at $199) respectively. The fans are available at Mayer showrooms, its e-store, all authorised retailers and online retailers.
