Snowboarding, skiing, skating and surfing in sweltering Singapore? It’s not impossible anymore!
Come Oct 28, bustling Orchard Road will be home to Trifecta, the first-of-its-kind surf-snow-skate destination in Asia. Extreme sports enthusiasts and beginners alike can learn and train for winter sports and surfing right along Somerset Road any day from 7am to midnight daily, without needing to travel overseas for mountains and waves, ski resorts or surf breaks.

Conceptualised and developed by homegrown adventure travel company, The Ride Side, Trifecta stretches over a sprawling 49,611-square-foot area (that’s approximately the size of four Olympic swimming pools).
Inspired by the world of adventure sports where snowboarding, surfing, and skateboarding can be completed in one day (a feat that requires both summer and winter conditions in the same place at the same time), Trifecta’s multi-dimensional and immersive experience is set to be a must-visit lifestyle destination, with a unique open public layout that encourages spectatorship and interaction among visitors.
The attraction features the latest technology mimicking conditions on ocean waves and ski slopes. Experienced skiers, snowboarders, seasoned riders and surfers can train seriously at Trifecta, while a lineup of beginner- and kid-friendly programmes and events are also in place for those who want to prioritise wellness and unique experiences.
More specifically, snowboard simulator machines in the Snow Arena (six people allowed per simulator per hour) are powered by Asia’s first ski simulator, with best-in-class speed simulation and directional movements to mimic natural mountain terrain. Perform snowboard tricks such as jumps and backflips at the “Freestyle” area, fitted with airbags and dry slopes for safety .
The Surf Arena is a thrilling space for both professional surfers and beginners. At 10 metres wide with waves up to 1.5 metres high, it is Asia’s largest standing wave pool. It incorporates Citywave’s unique Deep-Water technology so waves are adjustable in size to suit different skill levels. For the first time, participants can use surfboards with fins, and perform turns and take-offs just like real ocean surfing.
If all the surfing, skiing and snowboarding look intimidating, they don’t have to be. Beginners can start their first experiences in a safe and stable way by using a grab-handle.
Finally, experience the world’s first hybrid skate bowl, made for both skateboarding and surfskating. Designed by skaters from Bali’s popular community skate sports such as Pretty Poison and Amplitude Skate Park, it is free for all to use and will complement the Somerset Skate Park next door.
Shop and dine
Trifecta will also be home to The Ride Side’s flagship retail store, representing over 50 surfing, snowboarding, skiing, and skateboarding brands. Visitors can test a collection of demo-boards in the arenas, alongside a boot fitting and customisation station for ski and snowboard boots.
Adding to the experience is a brand new all-day dining concept, Butter. An exclusive collaborative kitchen by Singapore cult-favourite, Two Men Bagel House and Trifecta, the 70-seater Butter will serve all-day dining menus featuring Two Men’s signature bagels, croissants, pancakes, hearty grain bowls, beers, coffees, desserts, and more.
Single Class passes for 60-minute sessions (standard) start from $60 for Skate; $100 for Snow/Ski, and $120 for Surf. Credit packs and season passes are also available.
To celebrate the opening, there will be a four-week extravaganza of music, community snow and skate jams, art shows, workshops and more (Oct 28 to Nov 3; Nov 4 to 5; Nov 11 to 12; Nov 18 to 19). Festival activities in the first three weekends will be free for the public while membership is required for use of the facilities, and registration is required for lifestyle workshops.
