Orchard Road has a new luxury hotel. Rising amidst the cityscape is Pan Pacific Orchard at Claymore Road, an urban oasis with dramatic terraced greenery occupying over 200 percent of the hotel’s land area.

The flagship hotel, which ushers in Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts’ new era of “graceful luxury”, is designed by WOHA, the Singapore-based architecture firm known for its sustainable principles and environmentally conscious design. The hotel is also certified BCA Green Mark Platinum.

It’s hard to miss the building when travelling along Orchard Road. Enveloped in lush foliage, there are four sky terraces – Forest, Beach, Garden and Cloud – interconnected across layers.

Towering through these terraces are 120-metre green columns, while mirrored ceilings reflect each unique landscape. Open-air spaces offer fresh breezes and natural daylight for alfresco experiences.

Throughout the hotel are 14,000-square-metres of foliage and water features, a high-ceiling open-air lobby and energy-saving features like rainwater collection, solar panel technology and a bio-digester system.

It’s a breeze
Guests enjoy a breezy check-in at the Forest Terrace before heading to their rooms. Each of the 347 rooms and suites feature cosy 400-thread-count cotton bedding and luxurious bath amenities by French house Diptyque.

And yet, the hotel’s sustainability agenda means guests are encouraged to adopt eco-friendly practices. Available are in-room filtered water dispensers; and reusable bottles made with ocean-bound material.

Pan Pacific Orchard also introduces Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts’ therapeutic Happy Sleepers programme, featuring thoughtful sleep-boosting amenities and activities exclusively available in the hotel’s suites. Club guests can enjoy dedicated check-in, late check-out and exclusive access to the plush 130-seater Pacific Club Lounge within the Garden Terrace.

Food for thought
Signature restaurant Mosella overlooks the greenscape of Forest Terrace and offers Mediterranean cuisine with a Peruvian twist. Alternatively, head to Florette at the Garden Terrace where guests can enjoy one of the city’s best Champagne lists. Choose from growers, rare vintages or the classics, and pair a glass with the season’s freshest oysters.

Pan Pacific Orchard has also joined hands with Singapore’s first gin distillery, Tanglin Gin, to create the exclusive Singapore’s Orchard Gin. Made in small batches, the handcrafted libation is evocative of the origins of Orchard Road where nutmeg plantations once flourished.

Finally, how about a celebration in the clouds? The 18th floor of the dreamy Cloud Terrace presents a collection of spaces, including the pillarless 600-square-metre Claymore Ballroom – one of the highest in the city. With a panoramic LED video wall, natural daylight from floor-to-ceiling windows, garden views and a capacity of 420 people, it’s an ideal place for grand celebrations.
