Not just any regular music bar, Level Up is all about the casual hangs and having a good time—against a deliciously ’80s-style setup.
On first impression, it looks straight out of the arcade set of Stranger Things 2. There’s the colorful mood lighting, raw industrial decor, and of course, the wide array of retro arcade games dotted around the space—very in line with the bar’s “Eat, Drink, Play” motto. There’s no Dragon’s Lair or Dig Dug, but the working game machines reminiscent of days hanging out at TimeZone after school (read: Bishi Bashi, basketball and more) should keep you occupied.
You’ll likely go for the arcade games, but end up staying for other reasons—like the live entertainment from local musicians, or the casual bar bites served with an Asian twist; the jug options on the drinks menu make it a good place to come with a group of friends. Sitting on the second storey of a shophouse, a stone’s throw away from Zouk, it comfortably holds up to 250 people.
