The Buzz: A beer connoisseur’s haven, Just Beer stocks a variety of premium beers from the US, Australia, Germany, Belgium and Ireland. With over 30 types of beers from 15 brands, the pub introduces the finer flavors of these brews to those either looking to share their palatable opinions or simply to scull the night away.
The Vibe: The pub is located right beside Plaza Singapura at the Atrium, which means there are two taxi stands, a bus stop and an MRT line nearby ready to take you home after you reach tippling point (sic!). The alfresco area is where the good times roll. Its open verandah accommodates about 30 people, with five of its long wooden tables sitting about six people each. Together with a few smaller tables, the outdoor area bustles with local beer lovers having a casual pint. The indoor area is uncluttered and holds a simplistic charm with its well-lit areas, glossy orange walls and modest furnishing. Take it to the table and challenge your mates to a game of pool or just catch some footie on the flat panel TV screen.
Food & Drinks: Beer, beer, and more beer. A highlight is the Samuel Adams Boston ($11)—anyone who’s a beer-disiac will crave a pint of this full flavored and malty sweet American lager. If you are into fruity beers, Timmermans ($12) is a great choice with its assortment of raspberry, peach, strawberry and cherry flavors. German premium beers like Warsteiner and Konig (from $13-28) are also available on tap. If beer is not your thing, the bar also offers delectable booze food like the juicy 220 grams New Zealand ribeye Black Pepper Beef Steak ($24.90) and crispy deep fried breaded dory fillet fish & chips ($14.90).
Music: The outdoor area is reliably boisterous with live acoustic sessions from upcoming local acts like The Ocular and Josh and Hank. The bar also plans to showcase more local talents in the coming months.
Crowd: The watering hole attracts the working crowd from the Atrium@Orchard and Plaza Singapura who usually stay for more than a pint after work—so expect a packed joint.
