Laugh

Apart from tipple spots like Vanity, Vatos Urban Tacos, Suite 26 and the soon to be opened gastropub The Armoury, there’s cocktail bar Laugh—one of the newest boys on the block at the newly jazzed up South Beach enclave. It features whimsical interiors lined with plush sofas, large wall spaces dedicated to witty one-liners and retro-inspired furniture.

As expected, they’re not too big on food here, with only three mains like the spinach and cottage chees tortellini ($19) featuring a chunky tomato base with truffle oyster jus; the ossobuco praline ($22) that comes with a slow-braised veal shank topped over by olives, cherry tomatos and a herb and butter croustillon; and the slow-braised beef cheek ($26).

The drink menu has a pretty decent line-up with the usual suspects like tequila, gin, rum, whisky and brandy ($17-48). But the in-house signature cocktails are the ones worth your time. Try their namesake cocktail the laugh laugh ($18), with a mix of vodka, butterscotch syrup, lime juice and fresh raspberries. If you’re up for something a little stronger, have the blue whale ($20), which brings together dark rum, blue curacao, amaretto and an apple and lemon juice mix. For those who prefer to take it a little slow, head for the passionito ($18)—a light rum with a mix of passionfruit, lime, mint and brown sugar.
