[CLOSED FOR RENOVATION] The Buzz: The Ublues Group does it again—channeling our love for malted sustenance (we mean beer, not milk) into a swellegant biergarden where you can canter over for an ice cold pint of malted goodness. Mmmm….The Vibe: A cool island bar with a well-stocked fridge is the highlight of this outdoor watering hole while keeping to the biergarden aesthetic with barrels-as-tables and brand new wooden furniture. The Drinks: Beer. Beer. And more beer. More than 50 kinds of ‘em. While some other beer joints specialize in only one type of beer from a particular country, Malted Milk decides to up the ante and go schizo with its offerings that spans the globe. Make sure you check out premium and obscure brews like Kilikia from Armenia, Hobgoblin and Marston’s Pedigree from the UK, Switzerland’s Vollmond Bier and South Africa’s Savannah Cider. “Malted Milk is one place where you can travel the world through beer,” says bar manager Pio PS.The Food: A delish smorgasbord of pub grub and hearty dishes like Buffalo wings with hot sauce and peanuts, wagyu burger, lemon basil salmon and the now-famous Timbre pizzas. The Crowd: Loyal regulars including beer lovers and sports fans (they’re screening World Cup matches here as well) with a good mix of expats and locals. The Music: “Nothing goes better with beer than old-school rock and blues,” says Ublues Danny Loong. While they currently play muzak, you can expect live acoustic rock and blues from Ublues’ stable of musicians every Wed-Fri from mid June. Why You’ll Be Back: The drinks are cheap and the bucket deals are really worth coming back for.
