Housed in the dazzling JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach is Media Bar, a gastropub that’s one of the three concept bars in the establishment. It specializes in Singaporean bar bites and offers a selection of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. The decor features heavily patterned wallpapers and sleek golden highchairs.
Some of the highlights on the drinks menu are draught beers like Archipelago’s Singapore Blonde Ale and Pilsner Urquell ($17 each), and bottled beers like Tiger ($15), Asahi Dry Zero ($15), Coopers’ Original Pale Ale ($16) and Abita’s Purple Haze ($16). They also offer highballs like Mr Highball, a mix of Chivas 12, lime, raspberries, cold brew rose earl grey ($24); and Berry Gin, a concoction of gin, cointreau, strawberry and soda ($18). If you’re more of a wine-drinker, they have reds like Hemisferio Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile ($15) and whites like Louis Latour’s Bourgogne Chardonnay ($28). It’s a great place to consider for your lunch or post-work boozing plans because their happy hour lasts from 11am-8pm.
When you’re hungry, you can fill your stomach with the snacks, burgers and buns on the menu crafted by executive chef Stefano Di Salvo. You can try their bbq chicken wings with pineapple and chili glaze ($16), Singaporean Roti Paratha Roll with curry chicken, red onions, coriander and pickle ($10) or their crispy shrimp meat burger with spicy tomato salsa and young greens ($20). If you want to have something sweet to go along with your tipple, they have an apple crumble with vanilla ice cream and sauce ($12) for your whim and fancy.
