Buzz: The popular Malaysian establishment makes its way here, setting up home in snug old Dempsey.
Décor: Welcoming and comfortable, it’s just the ticket for sprawling out after work. The alfresco area is furnished with rattan chairs, soft cushions and mock tree stumps for tables. There’s also a nice VIP corner, furnished with baroque-styled leather sofas for a sophisticated business vibe. The indoor area, with its wooden bar stools and waist high “barrel” tables boasts a stage for live bands, creating a more lively mood.
Food & Drinks: Apart from an exciting food menu which includes delectable Asian dishes, the main focal point of the bar is its Malaysian brew, Starker Fresh Beer. Brewed by master brewer Timothy O’ Rourke from the UK, the beer follows German tradition and is neither pasteurized nor filtered so as to maintain its freshness. Choose from a half pint ($12) up to a five liter barrel ($200) which is equivalent to 10 pints.
Music: Local band The Repeats dish out jazz, pop and rock numbers and create an easygoing vibe.
