SkyLoft | Review

The Buzz: SkyLoft, Singapore’s latest rooftop bar, on the fifth floor of the Sentosa’s iFly Singapore building, offers a matchless view out to sea across the harbouring tankers.

The Décor: A large wooden-decked airy alfresco area with a sizeable stage setting for live music and a white-washed interior that’s intimate and modern. The bar has been intentionally lowered so guests can watch the skilled bartenders in all their mixing glory.

The Drinks: One look at the menu and their variety of Mojitos will definitely catch your eye—interesting flavours from Mango to Ginger are represented (from $14). Also on the list are a number of Martinis, Margaritas and Caipira cocktails (from $14), a decent selection of single malt whiskies and other spirits (from $12), and even a few sakes.

The Food: With more gourmet offerings than your average bar, SkyLoft holds its own as a place for dinner (and brunch on Sundays). Highlights include a range of cheese and charcuterie platters ($32-38), appetizers like the foie gras terrine ($16) and wagyu tatare ($14).

The Music: A good line-up of local live music acts such as Jack & Rai (Thursdays), Shirlyn & The UnXpected (Fridays) and 53A (Saturdays).

The Crowd: A mix of trendy professionals looking to impress a date or client, and tourists looking to kick back with a few after a long day on Sentosa.

Why you’ll be back: It’s one of the better rooftop bars around with a pleasant backdrop (read: no skyscrapers) and familiar live acts that we’ve come to love.
