[Sponsored] It’s almost Christmas! And that means you’ll probably be spending plenty of time on Orchard Road in the next week or so. After a day of shopping and admiring the Christmas lights with your loved ones, there’s nothing better than enjoying dinner together. Here are three restaurants to visit at Scotts Square with special Christmas menus and two places there with options to take the festivities home with you.
PizzaExpress
Carbonara pizza
After opening more than 400 outlets around the world, UK-based restaurant group PizzaExpress (#B1-08/09) finally arrived in Singapore this year, and they’re pulling out all the stops for their first Christmas menu here. To start with, there are Christmas dough balls with chutney, black truffle dip or garlic butter ($6) and La Contesse Prosecco Brut available by the glass ($11). For mains, their pizzas and pasta will get a luxurious makeover when they’re topped with genuine black truffle—choices include carbonara pizza, Fiorentina pizza and linguine granchio con panna (from $20-$29), or simply pick any pasta or pizza from the menu and add $4 for the truffle upgrade. For dessert, PizzaExpress is serving up a mulled winter fruit crumble ($10).
The Coffee Academics
Great Southern Pinnacle striploin
Experts in specialty coffee, The Coffee Academics (#02-01/02) will be giving Christmas flavors a twist with two- and three-course meals that draw inspiration from the street food cultures of Japan, Italy, France and more. You can look forward to favorites and fusion dishes like prosciutto and marinated rockmelon; pan-roasted snapper with sauteed blue mussels, buttered romanesco broccoli and Kurobuta curry; and grilled Great Southern Pinnacle striploin with confit shallots, truffle pommes croquette, yellow frisee and red wine beef jus. The festive meals at The Coffee Academics are available from $47 (for an appetizer and a main).
Wild Honey
Venetian breakfast
Known for their global range of all-day breakfasts, Wild Honey (#03-03) has quite a few limited-time additions to their menu this month. Take your pick from their Barbary breakfast of duck confit hash with softly fried egg, pink grapefruit hollandaise sauce and crispy shallots ($26); their Venetian breakfast of toasted brioche with truffle butter, poached eggs, asparagus, truffle sauce and shaved winter truffles ($44); or a trio of scones—date, cranberry and plain with clotted cream, French butter and your choice of homemade preserves or lemon curd ($10). If you really want to get into the party mood, a 100-minute free flow of prosecco ($30) is available every weekend of December too!
House Party Options
Champagne Pol Roger
Can’t stay for dinner? Not to worry, you can always spread the holiday spirit with a house party! On top of their traditional breads and a selection of hearty bistro fare, Maison Kayser (#B1-25) will also be preparing two kinds of delightful log cakes in December: vanilla yuzu (vanilla mousse and yuzu cream) and La Kayser (chocolate mousse and vanilla creme brulee). The cakes are available in small ($40), medium ($60) and large ($80). The festive season wouldn’t be the same without some bubbly, so be sure to check out the promotions at Vintage Fine Wines (#B1-18/19). The curators of exceptional wines are offering discounts on Champagne Pol Roger Brut Reserve NV ($60) and two- and three-bottle vintage Pol Roger gift sets (from $235).
