The I-S team drive all around the island, from Lim Chu Kang to Potong Pasir to Loyang, in search of mean eats for the 50 Things to Eat in Singapore Before You Die list for 2012.
10.30am We start the day at our beloved office in industrial estate Henderson, a few sleepy souls armed with a brand spanking new MINI Coupe S and a strong desire to eat.
11.12am It’s pouring out, so we pop by Tiong Bahru Bakery for some pastries and, more importantly, a caffeine boost. Good call, if we do say so ourselves. The piping hot cups of joe and fresh-baked goodies do us a world of good.
12.49pm After a 75-minute drive, we finally arrive at Bollywood Veggies and set to work by ordering up their signature Bolly’s Banana Curry, Warrior’s Chicken Curry and banana bread. All pretty good.
3.58pm We get to our next destination, River South (Hoe Nam) Prawn Noodles (31 Tai Thong Crescent, 6281-9293), a reco from a really good friend. The soup isn’t quite as intense as we’d hoped, but the chili powder helps.
6.23pm The weather clears just as we pull up to Ulu Ulu Café Lounge. To round off our food adventures, we enjoy a comforting, peppery lamb shank bak kut teh before heading home.
