If there was any doubt of the vibrancy of Singapore’s dining scene, consider it assuaged. A series of high profile openings are planned for the next few months. Japanese food lovers should look out for Sushi Kuu (#01-06/07 Palais Renaissance, 390 Orchard Rd., 6736-0100). Set to open in highfalutin mall Palais Renaissance on August 26, the sushi and sashimi specialist is an offshoot of a noted Hong Kong restaurant.
Coming up in September, there’s The Chop House (#01-161/162 VivoCity, 1 Harbourfront Walk, 6376-9262), a new dining spot by the folks behind Wooloomooloo Steakhouse. The international joint, offerings casual eats like burgers, will also have a selection of artisan beers and craft cocktails, plus plenty of alfresco seating.
Then there’s WOLF (18 Gemmill Lane), a nose-to-tail eatery by The Prive Group, set to launch in early October, as well as respected restaurateur Loh Lik Peng’s yakitori restaurant (Blk 78 Moh Guan Terrace) in Tiong Bahru, set to launch in the same month where Hua Bee coffeeshop used to be.
