No points for guessing which of Singapore’s restaurant made The World’s Best Restaurant list this year. Here’s who made the cut for the 51-100 list, which was released last night.
Tetsuya Wakuda’s beautiful restaurant Waku Ghin was placed at No. 70. This zen Japanese restaurant, specializing in degustation menus, is the first Singapore entry on the list despite the fact that it slipped two places to No. 9 in Asia’s 50 Best back in March.
Fine dining frontrunner Jaan also made the cut at No. 74. The vertiginous restaurant climbs 26 spots from last year’s worldwide list, but also climbed six places to snag the 11th spot at Asia’s 50 Best.
The top half of the list (1-50) will be announced Jun 2, but by process of elimination, it should include Restaurant Andre which was fifth on the Asia list, the highest ranking for Singapore.
