4 brunches with free-flow alcohol to try this weekend

One of the best things about brunch, aside from gorging on breakfast items, sipping on cocktails and Champagne before the clock strikes noon. Here are the newest free-flow brunches to book.

10 at Claymore

The Orchard Road hotel has an extravagant new Sunday brunch buffet that includes a seafood station with shucked oysters, Boston lobster and Alaskan crab, roast wagyu beef, a salad station and tons of Western and Asian dishes like char kway teow and Assam laksa. $98 gets free-flow wine and beer with all the goodies.

Catalunya

Bayside Spanish restaurant Catalunya’s Sunday brunch is everything you need to recover from a night out. The cocktail bar is transformed into a cold station with cold cuts, cold Spanish dishes like gazpacho, cheeses and salads. And while you can order dishes off the menu, make space for the whole suckling pig and seafood paella that come out bursting in song and dance (yes, the waitstaff really do a jig). On top of all that, you get free-flow cocktail of the day and a selection of wines. $98 for the brunch with juices with an additional $48 for free-flow drinks.

The Knolls

The Mediterranean Sunday brunch now has a free-flow Vintage option. And by Vintage, we mean Vintage Taittinger Champagne on top of wines like Louis Jadot Chablis and Chateau Haut-Brice Grand Cru. Paired with dishes like seafood bouillabaisse, truffle risotto and leg of lamb, the brunch spread here is huge. There are also desserts like peanut yuzu pyramids and green tea chocolate cake with jasmine tea pearls to munch on, too. It doesn’t come cheap: brunch goes for $258 per person or $178 for the non-Vintage option.

Open Door Policy

One of our favorite Tiong Bahru restaurants have recently rolled out a brunch menu. Although it’s not free-flow per se, there’s a Champagne countdown where each subsequent glass of bubbly is reduced by $5 until all additional top-ups become free. Starting at $20 for the first glass, you’ll only need to get through four glasses before hitting zero. Plus, the menu is full of modern but comforting dishes like the English breakfast with sausages and smoked pancetta, as well as a toothsome breakfast burger topped with eggs and bacon.
