Time to get your hands dirty—on saucy fried chicken tagged with a celebrity name, that is. Fried chicken chain 4Fingers announced today (Jan 23) that they’ll be partnering with celebrity chef Bjorn Shen to launch a new series of recipes, as add-ons to the existing menu in the next few months.
The exciting menu kicks off with Skinnies ($4), Shen’s take on crispy fried chicken skin, marinated in a mix of spices and served in 4Fingers’ Original Soy sauce or the Hot Sauce. It’s a match made in heaven, given Shen’s penchant for chicken (he has a chicken wing tattoo on his arm), and his entrepreneurial venture, the recently closed Bird Bird. To complement it, the local chef has also whipped up The Dip ($2)—a sweet, tangy cream dip mixed with sour cream. And if you’re looking to try both, the cheekily named combo Skin–ny Dip is priced at $5.50.
Mark your calendars; the new items will hit stores islandwide from Jan 25, and four other new treats will be added to the menu in time. At such affordable prices, it’s the best chance to taste Shen’s skill on a budget.
Before this, appetites were whetted for a collaboration between Park Bench Deli, Candlenut’s esteemed Malcolm Lee, and Vijay Mudaliar from Native bar—which unfortunately, lasted the grand total of one day. This new partnership between 4Fingers and Bjorn Shen wil roll out in phases over the next few months, and looks like it’ll be around for a while. We’re here for it; if fashion brands can collaborate with celebrity designers for capsule collections, there’s no reason why the F&B industry can’t do the same.
