There’s no doubt that there are a ton of cafes to tuck into a hearty brunch and a great cup of coffee, here are the latest crop of places to add to the ever-growing list.
Group Therapy (Katong)
The much-loved Duxton cafe opens an eastern outpost at Katong V with more favorites like homemade wholemeal bagels and turkey breast paninis. Aside from coffees, this place also carries beers like Trappistes Rochefort and Coedo brews.
The Hangar
Hidden in Arab Street is this chillout cafe that serves breakfast, brunch and lunch food like The Hangover with bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and baked beans. Plus, all the coffee here is roasted by Pilot Brothers and sourced from far-flung places like Tanzania and Ethiopia.
The New Black
Arguably the most high-tech and swankiest of the lot, this is the sort of coffee shop Apple would open. The cafe isn’t about pushing its own roasts but features different coffee roasters from all over the world like Norway’s Tim Wendelboe and Washington’s Olympia. There’s a rotation of roasters, as well, including our own Nylon Coffee Roasters.
Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters
A partnership between local Oz Specialty Coffee and some Thai compatriots, this Upper Thomson cafe is all about the minimalist all-white treatment, coffee and comfort food like truffle eggs benedict.
Top Deck
From the folks that brought you Habitat Coffee is this two-in-one space: part coffee shop and part creative event space. Think minimalist interiors with polished concrete, white walls and wooden furniture with coffee made by the Synesso espresso machine.
