Affordable lunch sets and special menus you simply can’t miss this April

Indian specials inspired by the Kashmir region, a whiskey pairing dinner, lots of wallet-friendly lunch sets in the CBD area—looks like you’re gonna have a hard time sticking to that diet this month.

From Apr 16 to 24, Punjab Grill will offer an extensive array of creations by chef Javed Ahamad and guest chef M. Rehman to celebrate food from the Kashmir region of northwestern India. During the week-long Kashmiri Festival, you’ll get to experience the exotic cuisine (which features a lot of dry fruits, meat and spices) with highlights such as tiger prawns marinated with ginger powder (known as wazwani jheenga, $42), and dum aluv ($28)—potatoes simmered with fennel seeds, ginger and Kashmiri chili gravy. Plenty of vegetarian options are available too.

If you’re a whiskey lover, don’t miss Fat Cow‘s month-long Macallan Whisky Pairing Dinner ($138 per pax), where chef Dan Segall presents a four-course meal featuring items like a chargrilled Blackmore Ranch wagyu beef paired with a smooth, heady (and slightly fruity) Macallan 18 year old.

For some midday treats, those of you working in the CBD/Clarke Quay area: you’re in luck. Clarke Quay’s Executive Set Lunch promo makes its return this month, which means you get to enjoy multi-course lunch sets priced at $15, $25 and $35 nett at over 20 participating restaurants, including Vintry (which is offering a five-course set lunch featuring their famous caramelized roast pork rice as one of its mains for just $15) and Fremantle Seafood Market, whose three-course set lunch ($35) constitutes soup, a choice of main (we like the sound of the squid ink fettucine with scallops and prawns) and a dessert of the day.
