For the second year in a row, Restaurant Andre won the title of “The S.Pellegrino Best Restaurant in Singapore” at the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards last evening (it came in sixth overall). To top it all off, chef Andre Chiang was also given the Chef’s Choice Award, as voted by fellow renowned chefs on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
Seven other restaurants in Singapore made the cut, including first-timer Tippling Club by chef Ryan Clift (#23). Other local establishments on the list are: Waku Ghin (#7), Iggy’s (#12), Les Amis (#14), JAAN (#17), Shinji by Kanesaka (#35) and Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck (#40).
Additionally, chef Janice Wong of 2am:dessertbar took home the award for Asia’s Best Pastry Chef—this is her second consecutive win.
As for who reigned supreme on the list, it’s Nahm in Bangkok by chef David Thompson. If you’re curious as to how good Thompson’s creations are, don’t worry because his casual dining concept Long Chim is set to launch at Marina Bay Sands (taking over Guy Savoy, which closed earlier this year) later in 2014.
