At the newly opened Casa Tartufo, it’s truffle season all year round

Now you don’t have to wait for truffle season to get your fill of the much sought-after “noble mushroom”. Casa Tartufo is the first restaurant here that boasts a themed menu around the little fragrant fungi. To achieve this, owners Alessandro Calabro and Tammy Boh have cultivated relationships with truffle hunters from Italy, France and Australia. Located at Forum The Shopping Mall (#01-17 583 Orchard Rd., 6836-4647), the bar and bistro serves up authentic Italian cuisine from the owners’ travels in Italy, most notably Piedmont, Lombardy and Tuscany. The kitchen is helmed by chef Chef Dana Macina who has worked in Dolce & Gabbana’s Gold restaurant in Milan. Notable dishes include duo of Wagyu beef carpaccio & tartare with Osietra caviar; poached egg with the In-house original truffle cream and wild mushrooms; foie gras steamed “in the hay”, and served with parmesan cheese fondue as well as truffle pannacotta. Oenophiles can also look forward to its extensive wine cellar which houses up to 4,000 bottles of wine.
